Knowledge Ecology Fair 98
As we enter our last week together, we bet that some are reflecting on the experience, making plans to maintain relationships, scheming to incorporate all this new learning into your individual workplans, and possibly wondering when you are going to have time to get caught up with the vast and impressive contributions at the Fair! Well, first off fear not about the rug being pulled from under you on the last day of the month. Although all items and conferences at KEFair will be frozen at the end of the day on Saturday, February 28th, we'll leave the site accessible for at least one month so that participants have a chance to catch up. So, what to do with our last week together? Well, as always, there are lots of fascinating choices! Participants in Mike McMaster's workshop on the "Source Document" have been exploring the power of a process for creating a source document since the Fair opened. They are now formulating a source document that may serve as a "strange attractor" of the KE community. Mike McMaster summarized the source document's first draft, and will provide a new version integrating the new inputs, in the next few days. Join this collaborative process in Mike's workshop. We also introduced a new workshop this week. Bill Veltrop leads a collaborative inquiry on Growing Generative Leadership Capabilities: a Knowledge Ecology Strategy. Very soon, look for addition of The KEFair Wave! Join our collective commitment for follow-up! Enter your responses in The Wave to questions about What's next? Tell what questions are still unanswered for you. And voice your hopes for the future of Knowledge Ecology! When The KEFair Wave (For Change!) is open we'll announce it in the Cafe. This week we have two new Keynoters. Join Harlan Cleveland as he leads a discussion on Intuitive Leadership (Item # 10) and Linda Stone, who advises the topic, Building a New Community of Practice When Your Job Changes (Item #11). You can also still catch up on the previous Keynote discussions. We're meeting some of the exhibitors in the Exhibit Hall. This week, you have the opportunity to talk to George Pór from Community Intelligence Labs and Michael McMaster from Complexity Solutions Ltd. The Cybrary has an updated Networking Directory, complete with hot email links, so you can "browse the halls" and send a fellow participant a quick note to say hello! We've also added a place where you can upload digital photos and drawings to our picture gallery. You can access the Picture Gallery from the Cafe, or from the Cybrary. Chat's are also regularly being scheduled in the Cafe. See Item # 17 for the schedule of Chat sessions, or suggest one yourself! Summaries are added daily to the Cybrary as well! It's a great way to keep up with all the exciting places at the Fair that you haven't had time to visit. Tomorrow we'll be posting forms for evaluation around the Fair. Be thinking of how this month and our time together has been at KEFair -- we'll be very interested in your feedback! You can already post some of your reflections in the Open Space Circle, (Item # 44, Making This Fair Better). And last but certainly not least, A BIG THANKS to Neil Olonoff, Isabel Willshaw, and Barbara for their wonderful contributions to the KEFair Newsletter, which you can check out at http://www.tmn.com/kefair/newsletter. We also plan to publish another issue at the end of this week, so this is a call for contributions! Send us something to include in the next issue! It can be an interview, profile, reflection, story, cartoon, poem, anything goes! Send it in an email to amye@tmn.com by Midnight Thursday February 26th (EST, United States) for inclusion in the second newsletter of the Fair. Have a great time at the closing week of Knowledge Ecology Fair 98 this week!
