Knowledge Ecology Fair 98
This update is to keep you informed about the happenings at the Knowledge Ecology Fair 98 (http://www.tmn.com/kefair), as you requested. We're pleased to tell you that as of this morning [EST, United States] 375 participants from 17 countries have joined KEFair 98. We're in the second week and will continue throughout the end of February. Already in one week the content generated at KEFair 98 is extraordinary, and it's not too late to register! All the keynotes, workshops, and discussions with participants are permanently archived and easily accessible at the fair. We'd like to take this opportunity to encourage you to register and join your colleagues from all over the world, in the vibrant network of productive conversation. This update will give you a sneak peek at the happenings at KEFair 98. This week: * Listen to and ask querstions from the following keynoters: Juanita Brown and David Isaacs speak about The Heart of Knowledge Ecology: Conversations that Matter; David Marsing, VP of Intel - Cultivating and Developing the Potential of an Organization; Leif Edvinsson, VP of Intellectual Capital at Skandia - Intellectual Capital and The Future. We'll have one week only with them, so you won't want to waste a minute! * The Exhibit Hall is now open! You can browse 21 exhibits at your leisure. Also starting this Thursday, you can talk with exhibitors in the "Meet the Exhibitors" conference. You will be able to ask exhibitors questions about their organizations and products. Thursday is the kickoff interview with Screen Porch -- the company that brings us Caucus, the software that powers KEFair 98. * A warm welcome to Monsanto as a new principal sponsor of KEFair 98. They join @BRINT Research Initiative, Dow Chemical, Fast Company, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Knowledge Inc., Paine & Associates, Skandia, and Society for Organizational Learning. * Also this week, we introduce two new workshops. Denham Grey leads us in a workshop on Knowledge Sharing in Practice. We also join Edna Pasher in her workshop on The New Role of Management: Leadership for Knowledge Ecology and Strategic Renewal. These discussions have just started and will continue through the week. * At KEFair, you can browse the list of recommended books on knowledge management/ecology, organizational intelligence, change, leadership, and related subjects. You can even buy them in the bookstore located in the Cybrary. You can also introduce a conversation about your favorite book in Item #6 in the Café. * You can read and add your ideas to topics such as Knowledge vs. Information vs. Data; Learning Ecologies: Facilitating Informal Information Sharing; Culture,Values and Ethics in Knowledge Ecology; and Knowledge Artifacts. They are just a few examples of 27 collaborative inquiries in "Open Space Circle". * It's easy to catch up with the flow of the Fair. We're posting summaries of discussions, keynotes, and workshops on the fairgrounds. When you register, go to the Cybrary to find reports, summaries, and highlights of events.
