About the e-Learning Cybrary
- Introduction
- The e-Learning Cybrary is an ontology-based
collection of annotated links to e-learning sites, news, documents, portals, and other
e-learning resources available on the web.
- It's part of the e-Learning Resource Center project, serving the needs of organizations who
joined the "e-Learning Expedition" of the European Foundation for Management (EFMD)
Development, designed by Community Intelligence Labs (CoIL).
- It's a collaborative, work-in-progress project of creating a dynamic knowledge repository,
offered to the global e-learning and management development communities by EFMD and
CoIL.
- Navigation
- All the navigation options are available on every page in the left side menubar. Below is their full list
- EFMD logo: Clicking on the logo always takes you to the home page. The home page serves as a visual map of the Cybrary containing clickable areas for the first 2 levels of section hierarchy.
- Main sections links: The links on the left side take you to the main sections of the Cybrary. On each of those main pages you see all the entries belonging to that main section. When you are in one of those sections that menubar option expands and you can see as links all the subsections of that particular section.
- Search: Type in any keyword in the text box, above the word "Search" and hit return or enter. The following page will display all the hits of your search. The search system searches, titles URLs and the annotations as well.
- Table of Contents: Clicking on the "Contents "link will take you to the table of contents page, where all the sections and subsections are listed. They are also clickable and will take you to the appropriate set of entries.
- What's New: The "What's New" link will take you to the list of 10 entries that were submitted last. the latest being on top.
- Adding a link
- Clicking on the "Suggest a link" link will take you to the page where you can submit a link.
- The Title, URL, Annotation fields are required and you also need to select at least one topic area.
- If you want to be notified about the approval of your entry, put your name and email address as well. Your name and email will not be used for any other purposes then contacting you for acknowledging your submission. Your name will be displayed at your entry after it goes live.
- After you fill out the form and click the Send Entry button your entry will be entered into the database. Once the editors will approve it, the link will go live. If you submitted your email address the editors will also notify you about it.
- Future features
- Email subscription: You will be able to sign for getting notified on a regular basis about the new entries in the Cybrary. You will be able to specify whether you want to receive notification about all entries or specific section and subsections.
- Rating system: You will be able to rate all entries, and see their current ratings.
- Enhanced search: You will be able to search on a more granular level for entries by an annotator or in certain topic or subtopic or before after a certain date.
