Greetings, and welcome! My name is Holly Blue, and I'll be your tour guide as you explore the Land
of CoIL. Whether this is your first visit, or you've been here before, you may want to take a fresh look around, because things have changed. The images on our splash page—an old playbill and a spaceship set against a sea of stars—tell the story. |
We see before us a transformational journey of mythic scale, where the combined power of new business models, technologies, ancient wisdom and visionary ability to create the future we want, are called forth. Only when they are all accessed, and the shared intelligence of communities in business and all sectors of society is activated, only then will we have a chance to create a sustainable world for ourselves and for our children "unto seven generations."
The closed, hierarchical structures that typified "Industrial Age" companies and forced employees into mechanistic roles are gradually being replaced by "new paradigm" organizations of free agents. The big difference is in the very nature of how work is defined. As George Pór pointed out, "Employees spend their time to earn a living. Free agents invest their attention to enhance their capabilities and develop new ones."
Imagine fellow traveler that we are standing together on the brink of a great adventure. You hold in your hands four magic keys. Each will open the turnstile to a different theater. Take a moment and ask yourself, which you find the most engaging? Which do you find puzzling?
