The Lotus Ancient Eastern traditions have long regarded the lotus as a symbol of evolving consciousness, beauty and life. The lotus is a sacred plant which represents the organic nature of transformation. With its roots buried in mud, the flower of the plant rises above the water, blossoming forth in the air to face the sun. Closing its petals at sunset, the lotus opens in full glory with the sunrise, symbolizing the moment when someone awakens to full awareness.
